What is dry cleaning?
Dry cleaning is the use of solvents to remove soil and stains from fabrics. Dry-cleaning solvent is not harmful to any fabric, and dry cleaning is the only safe method for cleaning many types of garment.
Natural fibres such as wools and silks will shrink and perhaps lose their colour if washed in water, but will come out perfectly after dry cleaning. Cottons and linens, if not pre-shrunk when manufactured, will also shrink in home laundering. Dry cleaning is particularly effective in removing greasy, oily stains from synthetic fibres which tend to bind in oils when stained.
Where do you do the dry cleaning?
Depending on your postcode, your order will be dispatched to either of our Kensington or Ruislip workshops.
Did you also know that dry cleaning can extend the life of your wardrobe, and that your knowledge of dry cleaning can bring out the quality of your clothes? Dry cleaning does not reduce the life of your garments.
How do I book a collection or delivery?
You can schedule a collection or delivery when placing your order through our website at (www.oneclickdrycleaning.co.uk) or on our mobile app (ONECLICK) at the Apple App Store or Google Play, or simply by calling our dedicated team on +44 (0)20 7993 5001.
What is the minimum order?
Our minimum order is £25, unless you have asked for a special delivery and we have quoted a higher minimum order for it.
Why should I have my clothes dry cleaned?
One Click Dry Cleaning provide more than just dry cleaning. Our service includes professional removal of problem stains that will not come out with dry cleaning alone. It also includes professional pressing, careful packaging and inspection at every step of the process to make sure all stains have been attended to and the item has been properly pressed and finished.
How do I pay for my order?
You have basically two choices to make: when and how you wish to pay.
- Payment when placing your order: whether direct from our website (oneclickdrycleaning.co.uk) or using our mobile app (ONECLICK), please select either to pay by debit or credit card, or (for the first time in the dry-cleaning industry) by PayPal. Alternatively, you may decide to call our main telephone number (020 7993 5001) to pay by debit or credit card.
- Payment on collection or delivery: you may choose to pay either by cash or by debit or credit card (our drivers are specially trained and equipped with mobile merchant units that allow you to securely enter your PIN).
How do I know the weight of my drop-and-go laundry bag is 8 kilos or more?
Our driver can give you an approximation through his expertise. There are two load sizes in our laundry service: 8 kilos and 12 kilos. To view our price list please click here.
Can matching pieces be cleaned individually and not together?
No. Sets of clothes such as a suit and twin sets should be cleaned together in order to keep colour variation to a minimum.
The prolonged cleaning of one item of a matching set while the other is cleaned less frequently could lead to observable colour changes over time.
Do I have to separate whites from colours?
No, we shall take care of that for you. If you instruct us to wash whites separately from colours a small extra charge will be added.
Do you offer a same-day service?
Yes, One Click Dry Cleaning offer a same-day and next-day service for all your dry-cleaning needs.
To place an order using our same-day service you can only call us on +44 (0)20 7993 5001 and select option 1.
Do you offer a curtain-cleaning service?
We provide a take-down and re-hang service for your curtains and blinds or any heavy household items, in addition to your normal dry cleaning or laundry.
Simply call our main number on +44 (0)20 7993 5001 and select option 6 for further details or to arrange a free, no-obligation quotation.
What causes yellowing and/or fabric damage?
Exposure to heat or the passage of time may cause stains from food, drinks and other oily substances to oxidise and discolour your clothes to a yellow or brown colour. At this point it is more difficult to remove garment stains.
Certain chemicals found in antiperspirants, perfumes and household cleaning can react with clothing; this can be a problem for shirts and blouses in particular.
It is therefore recommended that your garments be cleaned soon after use without long periods of time left for these chemicals to work on the fabric.
What if I miss a collection or a delivery?
Please contact One Click Dry Cleaning immediately if you have missed a collection or delivery so that we can arrange another scheduled time. Unclaimed laundry and dry cleaning items after 30 days from a failed delivery will be disposed of or given to charity.
Do I separate my laundry and dry cleaning?
Yes. For your first One Click collection it is recommended that you separate your dry cleaning from your laundry which the collection driver will put into two separate bags. He will also give you two re-usable bags for your future collections.
How long does it take for me to get my clothes back?
Once you book an available 1-hour time slot for the collection, delivery of your order will take place during the 1-hour time slot booked by you (from 24 hours after collection) at your chosen address, in a stylish presentation.
Please note that if any unforeseen additional work is noticed at one of our workshops you will be immediately contacted for your confirmation which will naturally delay the delivery. (Other unforeseen events, such as accidents and acts of God, will also affect delivery, and you will be notified immediately.)
How do I reschedule or cancel the collection or delivery?
Collection or delivery can be cancelled or rescheduled by calling +44 (0)20 7993 5001 (select option 6), or by logging into your account on our website to amend your order.
